FLAWLESSLY MATCH YOUR SUNGLASSES AND JEWELRY

Matching their accessories is for some a daunting chore and, for others, a playful activity. We’re here to get you among the happy-to-accessorize folks and turn this daily moment into something you look forward to. At its highest level, think haute couture and runways, accessorizing is out there with art, but when it comes to your day-to-day needs, a few simple rules will do. As a guiding principle, accessories, be it your cool sunglasses or watch and jewelry, should contribute to your outfit, highlight a style, or say something about your personal taste, but not overpower the overall look.

CHOOSE SUNGLASSES FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE

Accessorizing can’t get more personal than with sunglasses. They say so much about your style and attitude, it’s natural to want a pair you can wear with most of your outfits. To find the right pair, determining which sunglasses to choose for your face shape is essential.

If you have an oval face, you’re in for a treat. Almost any design will suit your face shape. You can choose, for example, our Ambler Steel black sunglasses with rose gold details or the Lynx cat-eye sunglasses. Aviator sunglasses like our Aviator Steel balance out heart-shaped faces with wider foreheads and narrower jawlines. For the square-shaped faces, with almost equally wide foreheads and jawlines, we recommend rounded sunglasses that soften the strong angles. In both our sunglasses for women and men, you will find rounded options for your face shape, like the Arch Steel model. Finally, if you have a round face, we recommend geometric sunglasses such as our square, oversized sunglasses, the Grande Steel, or bio acetate. The strong contrast created with your face shape will draw attention to your face and emphasize a bold attitude.

To fine-tune your choice, consult our size guide which covers the exact measurements of the sunglasses so that you can match them perfectly to the size of your face.

IDEAS FOR MATCHING JEWELRY AND WATCHES

Do silver and gold go together? Once a faux pas to even ask this question, the answer is now a resounding yes, with a few caveats. For example, wearing both gold and silver should seem purposeful, so choose the same style for your jewelry and watch pairing or stack similar pieces. We recommend going for minimalist jewelry because the two-tone pairing makes a bold fashion statement. For example, on the same wrist you can wear a Classic bracelet in rose gold, and a Classic Valentine in silver, or an Elan bracelet in silver and the Icon Link Lumine watch. The warm shimmer of the rose gold will contrast beautifully with the cool, sleek shine of silver and add some zing to your outfit.

Here’s some advice for those wondering how to match jewelry in general. First, let’s tackle the obvious, wearing a jewelry set. The matchy-matchy style is taking over the fashion world, and of course, it blends into accessorizing too. For example, you can wear the matching ring and necklace from the Emalie collection. These pieces are subtle enough not to take over your outfit, but add shimmering interest points to your overall look. For pairing with a watch, choose the same metal color, for example, the Petite Evergold with a matching bracelet in gold, like the Unity.

The adventurous ones looking to wear contrasting accessories should consider some ground rules. Unless you’re going for that “more is more” look, you should choose one centerpiece like the Elan Lumine necklace and pair it with more minimalist jewelry, the Elan bracelet or the Classic ring. For your watch and jewelry pairing, don’t go for styles that are too contrasting. Our Classic watches go perfectly with the jewelry from the Aspiration Collection or Elan Unity.
